There’s no doubt that the world of martial arts is filled with alpha males. Why wouldn’t it be? In their constant pursuit for excellence, it’s easy to imagine them perfectly fitting in this personality type.
The alpha-male martial artist pretty much dominates every environment he’s in, exuding power and confidence drawn from all the competitions, fights and training sessions he’s ever had. Don’t be surprised if he constantly surrounds himself with other like-minded individuals, focused on getting stronger and better everyday.
Do you think you’re up for the challenge? Today, Evolve Daily shares 7 Tips To Date An Alpha Male Martial Artist?
1) Be passionate.
An alpha male martial artist like Former UFC Welterweight Champion Georges St-Pierre is focused on one thing and one thing only — following his passion. As a professional MMA fighter, he spends each day, twice a day, pushing himself to the brink of exhaustion during training. He knows what he wants and knows what he has to do to achieve it. He doesn’t have time to tell you to do what you love – you should already be doing it.
2) Be a risk-taker.
For Division 1 Wrestler and ONE Superstar Jake Butler, going into MMA was one of the biggest risks he’s ever taken in his life. Leaving a stable job on Wall Street for an unpredictable career in MMA is definitely not something most regular guys would do. So it’s only natural that he would fall for someone willing to take risks as big as he has. After all, each time he steps into the cage is also a risk in itself.
3) Be his equal.
After being challenged on the mats and in the cage each day at the Evolve MMA Fighters Program, BJJ World Champion and ONE Superstar Bruno Pucci doesn’t see why it should stop there. As an alpha male martial artist, he wants someone who understands his strong personality and isn’t afraid to communicate her feelings. She should be his partner in all things, especially in achieving his goals.
4) Be the voice of reason.
For alpha male martial artists, being goal-driven and in the constant pursuit of perfection is the norm. For someone who trains and works as hard as ONE Superstar Eduard Folayang does, knowing when to put your foot down is very important. Everyone needs a break every now and then and all work and no pay could most definitely break a fighter mentally and physically. Sometimes, what these men need is a voice of reason to help clear their thoughts.
5) Be loyal.
A true alpha male martial artist values nothing more than loyalty. Why shouldn’t they? They’re used to being leaders, knowing that those who follow them will stay loyal. Although someone like ONE Superstar Mark “Mugen” Striegl doesn’t expect to make all the rules in the relationship, he wants her to be truly loyal. He wants to know that she’s strong enough to last through both good and bad times and take care of him when he’s down.
6) Be full of surprises.
There’s nothing an alpha male martial artist loves more than to be surprised. Whether it’s a spontaneous trip out of town or preparing his meals for the week without him knowing, keeping the alpha male martial artist on his toes is definitely a must. For ONE Superstar Eddie “The Magician” Ng, being unpredictable is a plus. As both a full-time instructor and professional MMA fighter, Eddie’s daily life is pretty much mapped out for him – training, work, training; it’s what his whole life revolves around. There’s no doubt that anything that helps him break him out of this routine will definitely catch his attention — just make sure you don’t mess up his training schedule!
7) Be in control.
Sure, he always wants his opinion to be heard (or followed). It’s an alpha male martial artist thing, getting what he wants – nobody deserves it more than him, especially after the hours of hard work he’s put into training. MMA Legend Renzo Gracie is known for his strong opinions and also for his crazy work ethic. The last thing he needs is to crowd his plate with even more issues. For someone as independent and opinionated as Renzo, one of the greatest assets a woman could have is control over her own life. She has her own life and she lives it well, doing what she can to make things work. She doesn’t need anyone else to control her life; she can do it on her own. And if she wanted to, she could probably control him too.
So, do you think you have what it takes to date an alpha male martial artist? Although dating an alpha male might seem a bit daunting, it is definitely the challenge of a lifetime. Are you up for it?
