7 Ways to Stay in Shape While on Holiday

With so much to take in and do on vacation, working out is probably the last thing on your mind. We know, because we’re guilty of that too.

While it is important to relax and enjoy the sights and sounds of your holiday destination, we believe that staying active is also necessary. Of course, this is all about balance, so even if you manage to squeeze in one short workout on a week-long trip, it’s definitely an accomplishment!

1) Take advantage of your hotel gym


As most hotels have a gym, you don’t have to travel too far to get to one. That means you can easily gain access to the necessary equipment for your workout.

If your hotel’s gym doesn’t appeal to you, why not head to a nearby one in the city and reward yourself with a shopping spree after your workout?


2) Get out and explore

You might probably be seduced by the idea of chilling out on your comfy hotel bed all day, with your room service meal beside you on your bedside table while you watch TV. We completely understand, and know how plush those hotel beds are! But every moment you spend cooped up in your room is a missed moment of adventure. So get out, because there’s a beautiful new world out there to get lost in.

Depending on where you are, you might be able to go on a bike tour – so you can cycle those calories away while sightseeing, or go hiking and chase the sunset!

If you’re unable to do any of those activities, you can wander the city by walking from place to place rather than taking the bus or train. When you track your movements with a workout app, you’ll notice that you’ve burned calories by simply walking!
