“We are all very proud of our students. We have such a committed and hardworking group of students. They fought really hard and did their best, and it’s great to see them do well,” said BJJ World Champion and Evolve MMA Instructor Leandro “Brodinho” Issa.

“I’d like to that all the competitors’ training partners for helping prepare them for the competition. Evolve is a family, so it’s awesome to see everyone encouraging and supporting each other, pushing each other to get better. For those competitors who didn’t get the result they were hoping for, keep training hard and try again next time. No matter the result, it’s great to see all of the students challenging themselves by entering competitions.”

The Sport Jiu-Jitsu International Federation (SJJIF) is Grapple Asia’s organizing partner for its Dumau events and features a unique, streamlined grappling ruleset.

Since its inception in 2013, the mission of the SJJIF has been to make Jiu-Jitsu an Olympic Sport. It aims to expand its goal of unifying existing federations and transition the sport to Olympic standards that embody the Olympic spirit.

Competing against the top martial arts academies and gyms from countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines, the Evolve MMA students faced the best students in the region and emerged at the top of the heap.

A huge congratulations goes out to the hard-working Evolve MMA students who participated in last weekend’s event.
