Last Saturday September 27th, Evolve MMA scored yet another goal into the hearts of the children from the Boys’ Town Home. The Evolve Fight Team and World Champion Instructors turned up to spend time with the boys as part of a series of annual gatherings. Three teams from both Evolve MMA and the Boys’ Town Home battled it out on the field at the Cage Sports Park at Turf City. It was an evening filled with fun and laughter, making it a day to remember for everyone.
Although the Evolve superstars clinched the top three positions this time, the games were all hotly contested and competitive. Instead of keeping their hard earned medals, the members of the Evolve teams decided to give them to the boys as tokens of their appreciation.
Evolve MMA staff member Jason Pillai was in attendance and had this to say,
It was a great opportunity to make new friends, and it reminded us how lucky we were to have a loving and supportive environment growing up, which many of these boys lack. Unfortunately, life handed them a tough break – but these boys don’t let it get them down. In fact, I am humbled to have had the opportunity to hang out with them. They are all champions in their own right!
It’s always satisfying to give back to society and help those in need. The smallest gesture can often be quite significant in changing someone’s life.
The children truly enjoyed the company of the Evolve MMA superstars. They were particularly interested in Evolve Fight Team member and ONE FC superstar, Leandro Ataides. Evolve Fight Team member and rising ONE FC star Amir Khan said,
One of the boys asked me the age of Leandro Ataides. When I told him that he was in his 30’s, the boy had a look of shock on his face. When I asked him why, he responded that he had thought that Ataides was 50 years old because of his size!
After the games, Evolve MMA Founder Chatri Sityodtong gave the children a heartfelt speech on the remarkable power of martial arts to unleash human potential, and how martial arts have changed the lives of all of the Evolve MMA superstars. He persuaded the children to make the most of all the opportunities that they are given so that they too could become World Champions someday. Chatri reminded everyone in his speech,
The most important thing in life is attitude. If you want to succeed in life, everything begins with attitude.
As part of their Community Outreach Program, Evolve MMA hopes to become a family to the children of the Boys’ Town Home while making a lifelong positive impact on their lives through the martial arts. The Evolve Instructor Team act as life mentors and teach martial arts to the kids on a pro bono basis. At Evolve MMA, it is our goal to transform the lives of these children by nurturing them with the benefits of martial arts. They will inherit confidence, mental strength, self-discipline, a pure work ethic, self-defense skills, and much more. Above all, they will be taught to dream and to unleash their potential in every area of life.
