The philosophy of our Little Samurai Children’s Program is to help build life skills for your child through the power of martial arts. There are many benefits of martial arts for kids. Amongst them, your child will inherit confidence, mental strength, discipline, focus, and much more. Of course, the goal is also to bully-proof your child against bullies.
During a child’s formative years, it is critical for a child not to become a victim of bullying. The scars of bullying can last a lifetime by destroying self-esteem and confidence. The Little Samurai Children’s Program is a 360-degree approach to your child’s overall wellness. It is the only kids’ martial arts program in Singapore that is designed by a Harvard University graduate.

What Makes Children’s Program At Evolve Different
At Evolve MMA, we believe that the learning of martial arts will help build strong foundations for kids to become more well-rounded individuals. The objective of our Little Samurai Children’s Program is to build life skills for your child through the practice of martial arts. Our World Champion instructors have developed a kids’ martial arts curriculum that combines physical education, self-defense techniques, and cardiovascular conditioning to improve a child’s coordination, motor skills, and agility.
Our Little Samurai Children’s Program also helps your child develop important character traits and values that can only be learned through martial arts training. It is the only kids’ martial arts program in Singapore that is designed by a Harvard University graduate.
BRAZILIAN JIU-JITSU (BJJ) FOR KIDS
Bullying can take many forms. It does not always involve physical altercations – bullying can be verbal, emotional/social or cyber. Whatever the form, many children are not explicitly taught how to defend themselves against bullying. This is where our BJJ For Kids program comes in.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is a highly technical martial art that has been compared to chess. Evolve MMA’s BJJ For Kids program focuses on teaching your child to control their opponent with masterful techniques while remaining in an advantageous position.
Through our BJJ For Kids program, we help children develop the confidence and mental resilience to deal with bullying. Evolve MMA’s BJJ For Kids program will also help your child hone their athleticism, agility and to prevent them from becoming targets of bullies.
MUAY THAI FOR KIDS
Muay Thai is a graceful and effective martial art that originated in Thailand. Evolve MMA’s Muay Thai For Kids program is designed to impart the fundamentals of the discipline in a safe and controlled environment.
Through our Muay Thai For Kids program, your child will develop the confidence to handle any situation that may arise. While bullying may not always involve physical altercations, our Muay Thai For Kids program will prepare your child for any situation that arises.
Evolve MMA’s Muay Thai For Kids program focuses on honing your child’s athleticism and agility while teaching them to keep themselves safe.
What To Expect: Your Child’s First Day
We make the transition into martial arts exciting and stress-free for both you and your child.
The Warm Welcome: Arrive 15 minutes early. Our friendly frontdesk team will greet you, help you check in, and give you and your child a tour of our world-class facilities.
Gear Up for Success: No need to worry about equipment! For the first day, we will provide a sanitized Gi for BJJ or a pair of Muay Thai gloves. We’ll help your child get geared up so they feel like a true martial artist from the start.
Meet the World Champion Instructor: Your child will be introduced to our World Champion Instructors. They are experts not just in martial arts, but in working with children to build confidence while ensuring a safe, disciplined environment.
Age-Specific Training: We separate our classes by age groups (4-6, 7-9, and 10-13 years old) to ensure the curriculum is developmentally appropriate. Your child will join peers their own age for a fun, high-energy warm-up.
Learning the Fundamentals: Whether it’s a Muay Thai or BJJ class, your child will learn the basics, from proper stance and focus to fundamental movements, through engaging drills that build coordination and discipline.
Age-Specific Finishers & Respect: We finish every class on a high note, tailored to your child’s age group. For our Little Samurais (4-6 years old) and Kids (7-9 years old), we conclude with high-energy martial arts games that build coordination and teamwork. For our Pre-Teens (10-13 years old), we move into supervised situational sparring to help them apply their techniques in a safe, real-world context. Every session concludes with a traditional bow, teaching your child the value of showing respect to their instructors and teammates.

If your child’s dream is to compete in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the Evolve Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competition Team, we will help him or her train for the toughest and best Asian competitions and organize trips to world championship events around the world. Our team members regularly compete on the local BJJ circuit, and it is our goal to prepare them for success at the Mundials, ADCC Championships, and other top BJJ tournaments.

Is martial arts like Muay Thai & Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu safe for my child?
Safety is our #1 priority. Our Children’s Program is strictly supervised by World Champion instructors who specialize in children’s athletics. We focus on technical drills and “situational” training in a controlled environment to ensure every child stays safe and injury-free.

What are the main benefits for my child?
Beyond physical fitness, our program focuses on “Life Skills.” Your child will develop increased focus, confidence, respect, and mental toughness, tools that will help them excel in school and in life.

What are the age groups for the kids’ program?
To provide the best learning experience, we separate children into three age-specific groups: 4 to 6 years old, 7 to 9 years old, and 10 to 13 years old. This allows our instructors to tailor the complexity of the techniques and the pace of the class perfectly.

Can my child do both Muay Thai and BJJ?
Yes! In fact, most of our students do both. Our schedule is designed so that BJJ and Muay Thai classes often run back-to-back, allowing your child to develop a well-rounded skill set in a single visit.

Will my child have to “fight” other kids?
No. We focus on “bully-proof” techniques and character building. While they will participate in safe, supervised situational drills (like situational rolling in BJJ or hitting pads in Muay Thai), the focus is always on technique, cooperation, and self-discipline, never aggression.

What should my child wear?
For Muay Thai, comfortable gym shorts and a T-shirt are perfect. For BJJ, they will wear a Gi (traditional uniform). We recommend bringing a water bottle and a small towel for every session.

Do I need to buy a Gi or gloves for my child immediately?
Not at all. For your child’s trial, we are happy to lend them a sanitized Gi for BJJ and professional gloves for Muay Thai. Once they fall in love with training, you can purchase all the necessary gear from our various academies.
