5 Best Places to Catch New Year Fireworks in Singapore

Have you made plans for New Year’s Eve yet? If you haven’t, we think you should end 2015 on a fabulous note, surrounded by the people you love. Don’t forget to throw in some delicious food and drinks, as well as a spectacular display of fireworks – then you’ll be all set to start 2016 with a bang!

All of us at Evolve Daily are pretty stoked about the stunning fireworks display that would take place as we welcome 2016! And that’s why we’ve put together a list of the 5 Best Places to Catch New Year Fireworks:

1) The Pinnacle @ Duxton

Get ready to take in a stunning view from the 50th floor of The Pinnacle @ Duxton. Open to residents as well as members of the public (for a $5 fee), this sky bridge has a viewing deck which lets you walk from one end to another. That means you’ll have a few options when it comes to choosing your spot to catch the fireworks from!

Known as the tallest public housing in the world, The Pinnacle @ Duxton towers over most of its surrounding buildings. Hence, you won’t have to worry about having your view obstructed as you look out to see the fireworks explode above the Central Business District, Sentosa Island, Chinatown and more.

Nearest MRT station: Outram Park

2) 1-Altitude

If you’re a party animal, then put on your best outfit and start 2016 on a dazzling note by watching the fireworks from 1-Altitude. Surround yourself with your best friends and expect lots of fun, coupled with a panoramic view of Singapore’s picture perfect cityscape.

When you’re on the 63rd floor of the world’s highest alfresco bar, you’ll definitely feel on top of the world as you raise a toast to the year ahead. Don’t forget to look out for the explosion of colors against the night sky when the clock strikes 12!

Nearest MRT station: Raffles Place

3) Gardens by the Bay East

Want to get away from the crowd? Then why not usher in the new year with a romantic picnic at Gardens by the Bay East! Here, you’ll be able to admire the New Year fireworks, which will be framed by Singapore’s beautiful skyline. (We’re sure your special someone will be blown away by this spectacular view!)

If you’re spending New Year’s Eve with your family, this less crowded location is a great choice, especially if there are young children joining the celebration. This is because you’ll be close enough to have an amazing view of the fireworks without fighting for breathing space with the crowd. What’s more, you wouldn’t have to worry about losing your kids in a sea of people!

Nearest MRT station: Bayfront

4) Marina Barrage

Apart from supplying water to our sunny island, the Marina Barrage doubles up as a place for water sports. On New Year’s Eve, we recommend staying dry and heading to the rooftop of the barrage to catch the gorgeous fireworks! This green roof is the ideal place to have a relaxing, low-key New Year celebration.

While waiting to count down to midnight, you can bond with your loved ones by flying kites together or enjoying some wine and finger food – while chilling out on the grass.

Nearest MRT station: Bayfront

5) Merlion Park

Located by the waterfront, the Merlion Park houses the iconic Merlion statue, and also doubles up as a good spot for you to admire the stunning New Year fireworks display! To get an unobstructed view, you might want to head over early and “chope” a good spot for yourself and/or your friends!

Unfortunately, this popular spot is usually quite packed whenever people want to catch fireworks. But fret not! If it gets too crowded, you can always head to The Promontory @ Marina Bay or Esplanade Bridge, which are both within walking distance.

Nearest MRT station: Raffles Place

Are you ready to get swept off your feet by the beautiful fireworks that would light up our night sky at the stroke of midnight on New Year’s Day? Regardless of how you decide to celebrate, all of us at Evolve Daily hope you have a fantastic 2016 ahead!

Psst! After all that partying and feasting, why not kick-start the new year on an awesome note by training with World Champions?
