The Hidden Singapore: 6 Places You’ve Probably Never Been To

Despite being one of the smallest countries in the world, Singapore remains to be one of the most fascinating places you’ll ever find. Rich in culture and tradition thanks to its multi-racial society, Singapore continues to rise as one of the top tourist destinations in the world with its clean and green environment, world-renowned food, and famous shopping hotspots.

However, there is also another side of Singapore that many of the locals don’t even know about! And though they aren’t as popular as places like the Merlion in Sentosa or Marina Bay Sands, they play an equally big role in making Singapore the beautiful country that it is.

This hidden side of Singapore will no doubt help you experience the island nation like never before! So without further ado, Evolve Daily presents The Hidden Singapore: 6 Places You’ve Probably Never Been To:

1) Punggol Ranch

Deep within the beautiful punggol area lies one of Singapore’s best kept secrets, Punggol Ranch. As the name suggests, the ranch offers a series of horse and pony riding activities that caters to visitors of all ages; from children as young as 4-5 years old, to senior citizens.

And that’s not all! If you’re looking for a nice getaway resort far from the bustling side of the city, the ranch offers caravan-shaped chalet facilities that are opened to the public. There are also many restaurants, cafes, bars, and other fun activities to do within and around the ranch vicinity.

Whether you’re an avid or casual cyclist, you’ll be impressed and tempted by the large selection of handmade urban bicycles in an array of colors and sizes. You can even have your own bicycle refurbished by their experienced mechanics! Wheeler’s Yard also has an in-house canteen that offers a decent and affordable selection of western dishes and coffees.

The “Kampong” is home to no more than 30 families living in colorful houses mostly made of wood with zinc coated roofs. And in traditional “Kampong Spirit”, the locals living there would be more than happy to give you a tour of the area and help you learn more about what it was like growing up in the early days of Singapore.
