Congratulations To Noah Lim On His Second Consecutive Gold Medal!

Please join us as we celebrate Noah Lim’s amazing win at the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi, winning the gold medal in the men’s Ju-jitsu under-69 kg category!

Some #WarriorsOfEvolve did not find their calling in martial arts immediately – some took a meandering route before arriving at their passion.

Noah Lim started training and competing in swimming at a young age but found that life in the water did not speak to his soul. Having to go to the pool felt like a burden, to the point where arguments were had regarding training. But after seeing his brother, Paul Lim, training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Evolve MMA, Noah decided that he would give the “gentle art” a shot.

Noah realized that BJJ fit his personality and before long, he competed in the 2019 South-East Asian Games, winning a gold medal in the men’s 62 kg category. For Noah, who was competing in the SEA Games for the very first time, this was truly an amazing debut. But he proved his mastery of the sport again in the 2021 South-East Asian Games, winning his second gold medal, this time in the men’s under-69 kg category.

When he’s not on the mats training under BJJ World Champion Professor Teco Shinzato as part of the Evolve Future World Champions Program, Noah is fulfilling his National Service as an ambulance medic in the Singapore Civil Defence Force. He is part of the nation’s frontline efforts in battling the Covid-19 pandemic.

As a lifelong learner, the decorated athlete is still working on himself daily. He sees himself as a messy person who thrives in chaotic environments and is working to improve his organizational skills to stay on top of the situation at all times.

When asked about his greatest achievement to date, you might think Noah would mention an athletic achievement. Instead, Noah says that his greatest achievement is learning to play Chopin’s Etude Op. 10, No. 1, a piano etude that is known for its technical difficulty, without any prior piano lessons. In his personal life, Noah is looking for his next challenge: he is planning to apply for medical school in 2022.

Whatever your passion is, take inspiration from our #WarriorsOfEvolve and push yourself – because your greatness lies within.
