But how do you know if it’s right for you? Well, there are some signs that you can look out for, if you want to be really sure – although we believe that if it’s right, you would somehow just know.

Curious to find out if you made the right choice? Today, Evolve Daily reveals 5 Signs That You’ve Chosen The Right Martial Art:

1) You are 100% committed to your training

If you show up to training and consistently give it your all (even on the bad days), that means you’re committed to your training. This is a good sign because it shows that you’re interested in whatever you’re learning and are willing to stay dedicated even during the not-so-fun times. After all, you know that you only have a certain amount of time in the gym, and that’s why you really want to make the most of every moment.

2) You watch videos/read articles during your spare time

Whether you’re in the bus on the way to work or taking a break from that project you’ve been working on, you’re always doing one thing: attempting to learn more about your martial art. Because there’s just so much for you to grasp and absorb, you feel that you should fully immerse in it – even when you aren’t on the mats. Hence, you dedicate your spare time to studying videos and articles that can help you deepen your knowledge of the various techniques. Your friends might not be able to relate to you, or understand why you’re so obsessed with it, but you basically just can’t get enough of it!

3) Your loved ones see how happy you are

If your family members or friends have ever commented on how you’re practically glowing after every training session or when you talk about your favorite martial art, it only means one thing: you’ve made the right choice. After all, it takes something special to keep that smile on your face for extended periods of time! If your favorite martial art is the main reason why you’re constantly in a good mood, then hold on to it and never stop training – because this isn’t something that everyone is lucky enough to have in this lifetime.

4) You would always choose training over everything else

It doesn’t matter whether it’s that latest movie or Friday night drinks, because everything pales in comparison to training. At the end of the day, you would put your training first – and revolve your other plans around it. When you find yourself doing this, it’s a sure sign that you’ve chosen the right martial art because why else would you make it your biggest priority if it isn’t right for you?

5) You want to be the best martial artist you can be

You know that you’re not perfect, and understand that you’re a work-in-progress. But the thing is, you refuse to let your flaws get in the way of your goals, because your martial art of choice motivates you to always work towards becoming a better martial artist and person. So instead of letting your shortcomings define your success, you work on turning your weaknesses into strengths and strive to improve by 1% every day.

As with all relationships, you’ll definitely deal with your fair share of bad days in the gym. However, you can definitely overcome workout slumps and your other challenges. After all, you have come so far and ultimately still choose to love your martial art of choice. So tell us, do you think you’ve chosen the right martial art?
